Greetings from the 3 Year Olds:

We have been incredibly busy since our last newsletter.

For our Field Trip in October, we were blessed with perfect weather as we visited J Razz & Tazz Farm. It was a fun time learning about corn, riding tractors, and finding our way through the “Mini-Maze”.

As we studied Community Helpers, we were lucky enough to have one of our parents visit us with an ambulance! Mr. Timmons is an EMT. He and his co-workers took us on a grand tour of an ambulance – inside and out. Boy, are those SIRENS LOUD!!!

Right now we are talking about the First Thanksgiving. It isn’t actually in the Bible, but you can be sure it’s a story about God.

Wow! God is everywhere, isn’t He? That same God that helped the Pilgrims settle in America is the one that gives us strength and answers our prayers today.

Have a blessed holiday,

Mrs. Haynes’ K-3 Class

We had a busy October!

We learned two more letters and a few more letters.

We participated in the Grandparents Day program, putting on quite a show for them!!!

Also, we took a field trip to the J. Razz & Tazz Farm where we learned about corn and its many uses.

We went on a hayride and walked through a corn maze.

Boy,
Haystack Mountain
and the corn silos were great, too!!!!

On
Friday, October 23, 2009 an ambulance visited us at SLA

They taught us about how the emergency helpers take care of people who have to take a ride with them.

They showed us the lights and the LOUD sirens.  Thanks goes out to Mr. Timmons. We had a GREAT time.

Our class is looking forward to our Fall Party and
SLA
’s Fall Festival!!!

Mrs. Hayes K4 News...

Our class is full of singing, learning, and fun!

In Bible we are learning about the 1st Thanksgiving.  I want the children to know that Thanksgiving is a holiday that should be celebrated.

And to also know that we should be thankful for all who have come before us to help make our country a GREAT nation.

We as a nation should never forget WHO made our nation GREAT!

The words to this song ring so true when we stop and think that God, our Hevenly Father, deserves all the praise for what He has truely blessed us with!

Praise God, from whom all blessings flow;
Praise Him, all creatures here below;
Praise Him above, O heav'nly host;
Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.

Hello from the K5 class!!!!

Just today, we decorated cookies for the local fire department and a nursing home.

The kids really enjoyed this and as always, they want to indulge too.

This is my vision every year because I feel like GOD has called us to serve others.

In the middle of the holiday season, we sometimes forget to be a blessing to those who are in the background.

So this Thanksgiving, why not bake some cookies and bless someone unexpectantly.

Maybe a complete stranger or a neighbor that you've never spoke to.  You never know, God may be nudging you into a blessing.

So long for now.  Tune in next month for information on our next service project.
